Interacting with the delegation of various sports associations, the Lt Governor said that creating high-quality indoor spaces is essential for promoting public fitness, providing athletes with uninterrupted training opportunities, and guiding young people towards constructive activities.

The sports delegation highlighted the urgent need to open the multipurpose hall for players and for youth involved in recreational pursuits. They also requested institutional backing for Ladakhi athletes preparing for forthcoming national-level events.

Responding to their concerns, Shri Kavinder Gupta emphasised that expanding indoor sports capacity is a top priority for the Administration. He noted that professionally equipped indoor facilities not only enhance athletic performance but also play a key role in discouraging youth from drifting towards antisocial activities by offering structured, positive engagement.

Reaffirming his commitment, the Lt Governor assured that the UT Administration will continue to strengthen and modernise sports infrastructure across Ladakh, ensuring that local players have access to world-class training environments and meaningful opportunities to excel.

Similarly, a delegation of Bhoti language teachers employed under the School Education Department’s Samagra Shiksha programme met the Lt Governor, submitting a memorandum in support of their demands.

Additionally, a delegation from HDFC Bank and the Himmotthan Society also met the Lt Governor.
