SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today inspected ongoing construction work on Seerbagh- Sempora Bridge in Chadoora,  a key project aimed at strengthening the connectivity for various villages of Chadoora Constituency of Budgam district.

The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar and senior officers from the concerned departments.

The bridge, comprising 2 spans of 25 metres and 1 span of 55 metres, has a total length of 106 metre. The project has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 200 lakh, out of which, Rs. 100 lakh have been spent on various components of the project. The stipulated timeline for its completion is December 2025.

During the inspection, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the ongoing work components including fabrication, sub-structure development and overall project progress. He directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work, maintain quality standards and ensure that the project is completed well within the set timeline.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the bridge is an important connectivity project that will significantly facilitate the movement between Chadoora areas of Budgam including Summerbugh, Shilana, Tengan, Seerbagh and  various localities of Pulwama and Srinagar districts.

He added that once completed, the bridge will greatly ease transportation, improve accessibility to essential services, and boost socio-economic activities in the region.

Ensuring government’s focus on speedy infrastructure development, the Deputy Chief Minister said that, “the government is fully committed towards ensuring swift and efficient execution of all ongoing development projects. Every effort is being made to complete public infrastructure works in the shortest possible time so that people can benefit at the earliest.”

The Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with the engineers and field staff, urging them to redouble efforts and ensure adherence to quality and safety norms throughout the execution process.
