Chairperson DDC, DC Bandipora flag off YS&S Inter Zonal Trekking Expedition

BANDIPORA: Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Bandipora, Abdul Gani Bhat, along with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Monday, flagged off the Youth Services & Sports Bandipora trekking contingent (Boys Group) for the Inter Zonal District Level Residential Trekking Expedition to Pahalgam.

The week-long expedition, scheduled from 24th November to 30th November, features selected boys representing different educational zones of the district. The programme aims to promote adventure sports, physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and environmental awareness among the youth.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson praised the participants for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to take full advantage of the learning exposure provided through the outdoor adventure experience. He extended his best wishes for a safe and successful expedition.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Youth Services & Sports Department in organising such initiatives to channelise youthful energy into constructive platforms. She advised the young trekkers to maintain discipline, follow the instructions of the escorting staff, and enjoy the natural beauty and heritage of Pahalgam responsibly.

Officials of the Youth Services & Sports Department Bandipora, parents, and sports lovers were present during the flag-off ceremony and conveyed their best wishes to the participants.

The expedition is expected to contribute towards developing leadership qualities, confidence, and a strong spirit of adventure among the young boys.
