Uri: Two bodies were recovered from Nala Haji Peer near Larabal Balkote area in Uri, official sources said on Sunday.
The sources have identified the deceased duo as Ab. Baseer Pathan (20), son of Salam Din Pathan, a resident of Balkote; and Shafiya Bano (18), daughter of Mohammad Mushtaq Awan of Thajal.
Preliminary information, they said, suggests that the duo may have slipped and fallen down the hillside, leading to their deaths. “However, the exact circumstances are yet to be confirmed.”
A police team reached the spot soon after being informed and retrieved the bodies from the location.
“An investigation has been initiated, and necessary medico-legal formalities are underway,” sources added. (GNS)
