Srinagar: Police have busted an illegal operation involving the unauthorized sale of petroleum products, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of fuel in Awantipora.
A police spokesperson informed that on a specific tip-off regarding illegal storage of petroleum products, police in Awantipora raided the residence of Mohammad Shafi Rather of Malangpora, at present Sonrigund, and recovered 1750 liters of petroleum products (950 litres of Diesel and 800 litres of Kerosene), which were being stored unlawfully at the location.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated, police said.
