In a press statement issued here today, a spokesman of the Handicrafts and Handloom Department, Kashmir, stated that visitors will be treated to niche handicrafts and Handloom products made by the ‘Golden Hands’ of Kashmir artisans, including Shilp Gurus, Padma Shris, and National & UT Awardees. “LIVE demos of iconic crafts like Sozni & Crewel embroidery, Pashmina & Kani Weaving, Papier-Mâché, Copperware (Kandkari), Willow Work, Tweed making, shall be on display,” he said, adding that ‘Meet the Masters’ interactive sessions will be another highlight of the event.

The Artisan Carnival is part of the larger ‘Soulful Kashmir’ campaign which aims to revive, promote, and provide sustainable market linkages to the region’s legendary artisans while offering visitors an immersive experience. “Kashmir’s crafts are not just products, but Centuries-old stories woven by the golden hands. This carnival is our tribute to the artisans who keep these traditions alive and an invitation to all craft lovers to discover the real soul of Kashmir,” he added.
