The enquiry also focuses on instances where multiple vehicles have been purchased by a single individual. Officers also ensured proper verification and documentation during their visits, a police spokesperson said.

Car dealers were also advised to maintain proper records of each transaction, including Aadhaar card details, phone numbers, and contact information of both the buyer and the seller, to ensure transparency and accountability in vehicle dealings.

This exercise aims to strengthen surveillance mechanisms and ensure that vehicles are not being utilized for any anti-social or illegal activities, police said.

The drive was carried out in Awantipora, Shopian, Kulgam, and Ganderbal districts.
