The world of Islam is indebted and never forgets the contributions of Hazrat Khadija (RA) who protected it from the enemies of Islam. Khadija (RA) irrigated it with her wealth and did not let the sapling of Islam die from draught. Islam was her first love and protected the tree of Islam from its enemies and sacrificed everything and her children and grandchildren protected it from the enemies and irrigated it with their scared blood.
Hazrat Khadija (RA) nursed Islam while in its infancy, through it’s most difficult times and during its formative years. Her home was the cradle of Islam. It was the home of Hazrat Khadija (RA) that Angle Gabriel (AS) brought revelations of the Holy Quran from the Heavens for Prophet (SAW) for ten years.
When the Holy Prophet (SAW) declared his mission as the Messenger of Almighty Allah and told the pagan Arabs not to worship idols and called upon them to unite and rally under the banner of Tawheed, the Arabs became thirsty for his blood and made many attempts to harm him and stifle his voice. In those times of stress and uncertainty Khadija (RA) stood firm and was the bastion of strength for Holy Prophet (SAW). In this manner she made an important contribution for the survival and propagation of Islam.
Khadija (RA) demonstrated, through her deeds, the fact that the key to family happiness and strength lies only in the emotional closeness of its members. She spelled out the rights and duties of husband and wives. The Prophet (SAW) and Khadija (RA) spent twenty five years together and set the standards which became blueprint for the happy and prosperous family life in Islam.
The noble life of Hazrat Khadija (RA) is the concrete evidence of the fact that she (RA) turned the abstractions of idealism into reality. Hazrat Khadija (RA) not only, gave the world the set of principles or theoretical ideas but an experience, rich in moments of pure enchantments with Islam and subtle rhythms of love for Allah and his Messenger (SAW). If Muslim women are in search of happiness in this world, and salvation in the hereafter, they must live in the imitation of the saintly life of Hazrat Khadija (RA). She is the guardian of the secrets of winning the pleasure of Allah; and she is the custodian of the key that will unlock for them, the gates of success in the two worlds.
