Srinagar: A male body was found under mysterious circumstances in Kanelwan area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday, triggering panic among the locals.
Locals spotted the body lying near Kanelwan village and immediately alerted the police. A team from the Bijbehara Police Station rushed to the spot and took custody of the body for identification and medico-legal formalities.
Officials said the cause of death has not yet been determined, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the circumstances that led to his death. The body has been shifted to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination. (KNT)
