Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu and Kashmir, organized a preparatory meeting at S1 Church Lane, Srinagar, to discuss and finalize the programmes to be held in connection with the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — the Iron Man of India and the architect of national unity.
Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), BJP J&K, chaired the meeting and outlined a series of activities planned by the party to commemorate the occasion. He said that various programmes, including Unity Marches (Ekta Yatras), seminars, debates, and nukkad nataks, will be organized across the Union Territory to spread the message of unity, nationalism, and integrity championed by Sardar Patel.
“Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision and courage laid the foundation of a united India by integrating over 560 princely states. The India we live in today stands on his dream of oneness and national integration. It is our duty to continue his mission and strengthen the spirit of unity,” said Ashok Koul.
He further added that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has revived and celebrated the legacy of Sardar Patel — exemplified by the construction of the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity — a tribute to the great statesman’s unmatched contribution to nation-building.
J&K BJP Secretaries Mudasir Wani and Arif Raja, Programme In-Charge Bhat Imtiyaz, State Co-Media In-Charge Sajid Yousuf Shah, Co-In-Charge of All Cells Bilal Parray, District Presidents, and other senior functionaries were present during the meeting.
Mudasir Wani emphasized that these programmes will encourage youth participation and foster a sense of collective responsibility towards the nation’s integrity.
Arif Raja said that the life and legacy of Sardar Patel continue to inspire millions and that the BJP’s commitment to his ideals is reflected in every initiative aimed at strengthening unity and nationalism.
Later, Ashok Koul also addressed booth-level meetings as part of the ongoing election campaign for the Budgam Assembly constituency by-election. Addressing party workers at Booth No. 164, Thokerpora, he lauded their enthusiasm and dedication, stating that the campaign is progressing effectively and that the party is moving steadily towards victory.
