Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Satish Vimal said that Akashvani Srinagar has always been at the forefront of promoting young and emerging talent.

“Through this MoU, Akashvani Srinagar reaffirms its commitment to nurturing youth potential by offering them one of the most credible and far-reaching media platforms in the country,” he said.

“We are confident that the collaboration with GDC Baramulla will not only strengthen practical media education but also allow students to experience real-world broadcasting and audience engagement.” Prof. Lone described the agreement as an “important milestone” for the college’s Media Studies Department.

“Our students will now have the opportunity to create and air their radio programmes on Akashvani Srinagar. This partnership gives them a gateway to professional broadcasting and a vast audience,” he said.

During their visit to the department, Dr. Satish Vimal and Mr. Waseem Farooq Wani interacted with the students and faculty members, expressing appreciation for the facilities and creative environment available in the department.

“This is one of the finest undergraduate media departments in North India,” Dr. Vimal noted. “The infrastructure and the quality of student work truly reflect the department’s commitment to excellence.”

Dr. Danish Nabi Gadda, Head of the Media Studies Department, termed the MoU a landmark collaboration.

“This partnership marks the beginning of a long-term association between GDC Baramulla and Akashvani Srinagar. Our students will now be able to present their creative work on one of the most respected broadcasting platforms,” he said.

Through this collaboration, Akashvani Srinagar continues its mission of encouraging creativity, innovation, and professional growth among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir providing them with a national platform to tell their stories and express their talent.
