What kind of love is this, that I rise yet drown again?

As if in the path of existence, a trace of you remains.

Kashmiri Language Tarana – A Celebration of Identity and Heritage

I burned like the candle of yearning, time and again,

Yet each night and dawn was engulfed in the flame of your absence.

Try crushing your ego, perhaps then you will see

The profound mark left on a heart so utterly devoted to thee.

These eyes have tired of counting stars every night,

Yet destiny wrote your imprint even in dreams’ light.

I have become yours entirely; nothing remains of me,

Beyond my very being, only your mention and essence I see.

My heart had whispered, “One day, change your course,”

Yet fate decreed that your journey would be my force.

The world compelled Arfat to admit with awe,

In all of existence, such love has seldom walked the earth’s floor.
