JAMMU: Secretary, Transport department, Avny Lavasa today chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat here to discuss various issues and grievances raised by transporters.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on a wide range of matters concerning the transport sector, like improvement of public transport services, streamlining of vehicle documentation, facilitation of permits and fitness certificates, and addressing operational challenges faced by transporters across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Secretary gave a patient hearing to all the issues raised and discussed ways to address and resolve them. She emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening the transport sector, ensuring transparency, and improving ease of operations for all stakeholders.
Transport Commissioner, J&K; Additional Secretary, Transport Department; Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir; Regional Transport Officer, Jammu; representatives of NIC attended the meeting. Officers stationed at Srinagar attended the meeting through video conferencing.
