Srinagar: In a significant milestone for India’s indigenous sports manufacturing sector, GR8 Sports India Pvt. Ltd., the only ICC-approved cricket bat manufacturer from Kashmir, made a distinguished presence at the prestigious MCC Cricket Bat Conference held at Lord’s Cricket Ground, London.

The conference brought together leading administrators, manufacturers, importers, innovators, and researchers from across the cricketing world to discuss the depletion of traditional willow resources and explore sustainable, affordable alternatives in cricket bat manufacturing.

Fawzul Kabiir, Managing Director of GR8 Sports, participated in the panel on “The Willow Situation” alongside leading global manufacturers from England and Australia. In his address, he presented Kashmir Willow as a viable and superior alternative to English Willow, emphasizing its sustainability, resilience, and affordability.

Kabiir highlighted that Kashmir Willow bats cost only one-twentieth of the price of their English counterparts, offering a game-changing solution for making quality cricket equipment accessible to all. He also dispelled long-standing myths in the international market regarding the quality and performance of Kashmir Willow, citing its proven record on the global stage.

He noted that GR8 bats have been used by 47 international cricketers—both men and women—across all formats of the game, underscoring the growing trust and acceptance of Kashmir Willow in professional cricket. “Kashmir Willow is not merely a local product; it is an international asset that embodies sustainability, affordability, and craftsmanship. Its global recognition reflects the rise of India’s sporting goods industry and the talent rooted in the Valley,” he said.

The participation of GR8 Sports India Pvt. Ltd. in this landmark event marks a moment of pride for the region and the nation, positioning Kashmir Willow as a credible, eco-friendly, and globally competitive option for the future of cricket.
