Srinagar: Police have apprehended three long-time absconders in Srinagar and Shopian, a police spokesperson informed Wednesday.
He said in Srinagar, the two absconders — Waseem Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat of Al-Farooq Colony, presently residing in Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, who has been absconding since 2013, and Abdul Rashid Shiekh, son of Abdul Ahad Shiekh of Athwajan Panthachowk, who has been absconding since 2021, were arrested following specific intelligence inputs.
After the necessary legal formalities, the accused were produced before the concerned court in Srinagar.
In Shopian, police arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for the past 10 years. The arrested individual has been identified as Abdul Hamid Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Peerpora, who was wanted in Case FIR No. 81/2015, under section 307 RPC, police said.
