Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Ganderbal, Budgam, Pulwama and Shopian districts and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
Near Old Akhal Bridge in Ganderbal, one Riyaz Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Ashraf Khan of Parun Kunmulla, Akhal was arrested after cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Near Goripora in Budgam, one Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Rehman Sheikh of Draigam Khansahib was arrested after five grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
At Circular Road near Payer Crossing in Pulwama, police recovered six kgs of cannabis-like substance from the possession of Nisar Ahmad Ganaie, son of Abdul Ahad Ganaie of Tahab, following which he was arrested.
In Shopian, police recovered contraband substances from the residential house of Abdul Rasheed Koka, son of Abdul Gani Koka of Melhura Zainapora, a police spokesperson informed.
He said 20.890 kg of cannabis powder-like substance was recovered during a raid on the said house on specific information, following which Koka was arrested and a case registered for further investigation
