Srinagar: “Growth of J&K is directly linked with the growth of youth. They have a mission of transforming J&K and the nation. With resolve and dedication, they can complete this mission. We will ensure they have the right environment to become the most talented scholars, scientists and innovators,” the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said Sunday.

Sinha said this at a function where he felicitated the top performers and winners of Abacus Learning of Higher Arithmetic – ALOHA State Level Arithmetic Operations Contest at University of Kashmir, Srinagar. The competition witnessed the participation of more than 1500 students from across Jammu & Kashmir, an official press release informed.

It said the LG, in his address, congratulated all the participating children for their exceptional Arithmetic skills. He appreciated ALOHA for providing the children with an exciting opportunity to unlock their true potential.

“Arithmetic operations are not merely numerical calculations. They are foundations to skills like problem solving, critical thinking and reasoning. It has far-reaching implications and drives young minds towards innovation, science, and technology. It also serves as a reminder to teachers that the ultimate purpose of education is not the pursuit of marks, certificates or accolades, but the responsibility of building the nation’s future,” the LG said

The LG called upon the young generation to chart their own path and make conscious choices to achieve new goals.

“In an unpredictable world, innovation can’t be achieved by following the beaten track. The younger generation should be more entrepreneurial, adventurous, creative and follow the outside-of-the- box approach,” he said.

The LG also called for collective efforts to transform school campuses as hubs of curiosity and innovation. He said education should be a medium for independent research and ideas, with classrooms must serve as launchpads for dreams and aspirations.
