“Vijayadashami symbolises the victory of good over evil and that of righteousness over unrighteousness. May this sacred festival inspire us to work for unity, peace and progress of the country and strengthen our spirit of harmony, brotherhood and oneness.”

Meanwhile, LG in his message on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti has said,” I pay my heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his 156th birth anniversary. I extend my warm greetings to the people of Jammu Kashmir. This is an occasion for all of us to rededicate ourselves to internalize Bapuji’s ideals of peace, non-violence, truth, tolerance, compassion, self-less service and contribute in building Viksit Bharat.

Bapu dedicated his life for freedom of our country, social equity and development of our villages. His concept of Swadeshi was focused on making India Aatm-Nirbhar and boost local production. I appeal to all the people to buy Swadeshi Products and strengthen local artisans and cottage industries.

On this momentous day, let us take a pledge to follow the path of truth and non-violence and dedicate ourselves towards promoting peace and work for the Viksit Bharat”.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today extended his warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.

In his message of felicitation, the Chief Minister said that Gandhi Ji’s timeless teachings of truth (Satya), non-violence (Ahimsa), peace and humanity hold greater significance in today’s world, which continues to grapple with conflict, divisions and social discord.

“Gandhi Ji dedicated his entire life to the service of humanity. He waged an unwavering struggle against social evils such as untouchability, the caste system and inequality, and stood for justice, compassion and equality of all,” the Chief Minister said. Omar Abdullah emphasized that Gandhi Ji’s philosophy continues to inspire generations across the world and remains the guiding light for building a society based on tolerance, harmony and brotherhood.

“The need of the hour is to imbibe his principles and walk on his path of truth and non-violence to create a just and inclusive society,” the Chief Minister observed.

He urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth, to draw inspiration from Gandhi Ji’s life and to uphold the values of peace, communal harmony and mutual respect in their day-to-day lives.

He also extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, the festival symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

In his message on the eve of the festival, the Chief Minister said that Dussehra inspires people to uphold the values of truth, righteousness and justice under all circumstances.

He observed that the festival conveys a timeless message of moral courage and harmony, which remains vital for building a better society.

Omar Abdullah wished the people of Jammu and Kashmir joy, peace and renewed spirit on the occasion.
