Srinagar, Jul 16: Police on Monday claimed to have busted a Jaish-e-Muhammad module by arresting three “hardcore active members” of the organization during checking in Haritar and Yarbugh area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Acting on a credible input, a joint team of forces laid a ‘naka’ at Haritar area today. “During checking, a suspicious person was apprehended and during preliminary questioning, he revealed his identity as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo, son of Abdul Rehman Kaloo, resident of Takiabal Sopore,” said a police spokesman.

“He is an active member of JeM. Two grenades, a matrix sheet of JeM outfit were recovered from his possession. In this regard a case FIR no. 65/2018 under section   7/25 A. Act, 13 ULA Act,  has been registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation has been taken up,” spokesman said.

He said two more active members of JeM outfit were apprehended by Sopore Police during naka checking at  Yarbugh Rafiabad.

They were identified as Asif Sheikh, son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, and Abdul Majeed Mir, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, both residents of Yarbugh Rafiabad.

“A hand-grenade, four rounds of AK-47 and two Matrix sheets of JeM outfit were recovered from their possession. A case FIR no. 92/2018 under section 7/25 A. Act, 13 ULA Act has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up,” spokesman said.

In a separate statement police claimed to have arrested an over ground militant worker from his residence in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A police official said that Army personnel of 3 RR, police and SOG men raided the residence of Sabzar Ahmad Mir and recovered a 9 MM pistol and few magazines from his possession.

He was taken into the custody, he said.

Confirming the arrest, the district police chief Mohammad Aslam Choudary said a case has been registered and the investigations were underway.
