Lal Singh leads Congress delegation to Rajgarh

Demands relief for cloudburst victims

Rajgarh: Former Minister and Ex-MP Choudhary Lal Singh, accompanied by Fairoz Khan, former National President of NSUI, and other senior Congress leaders, on Sunday visited Rajgarh to meet families affected by the recent cloudburst tragedy.

The delegation interacted with victims and assured them of full support from the Congress Party. Expressing grief over the loss of lives and widespread destruction, the leaders urged the Jammu & Kashmir Government, the Union Territory Administration, and the Central Government to take immediate and concrete relief measures.

The Congress delegation put forward several key demands, including: One government job per affected family to ensure long-term livelihood security. Compensation of ₹10 lakh to each bereaved family. Allotment of land for the rehabilitation of displaced families whose homes were washed away or fall within danger zones. Comprehensive assessment of damaged households that have developed cracks due to heavy rainfall, along with compensation for loss of crops and livestock.

The leaders also met local Congress workers and representatives who have been at the forefront of relief efforts. They lauded their dedication and discussed coordinated steps for continued assistance to the affected families.

Among those who accompanied the delegation were Tilak Raj (Block President, Congress Rajgarh), Ishaq Khanday, Farooq Katoch, Pervaiz Wani, Sawarn Veer Jaral, Ali Shan Haider, Nasar Wani, Tabrez Furkan, Kamraj Sen, Qasim, and others.

Speaking to the media, the leaders stressed that timely action and compassionate governance are essential in moments of such tragedy. They pledged to continue raising the issue at every level until the victims receive justice and adequate rehabilitation.

The delegation assured that the Congress Party would stand shoulder to shoulder with every affected family until full relief and rehabilitation are achieved.
