July, 16: Anantnag police has solved a kidnapping case by arresting the accused person involved in the crime.
A police statement said that Police Station Bijbehara received a written complaint from a complainant (name withheld) stating that his daughter has been kidnapped by Malik Hasnun Bana son of Abdul Rashid Malik resident of Arwani Bijbehara.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 117/2018 under section 366 RPC was registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation was set into motion, said the statement.
During the course of investigation, Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Khan (JKPS) constituted a team headed by SHO Bijbehara. The team raided various suspected locations in and outside the district, and established various checking points in order to trace the culprit.
“After strenuous as well as technical efforts, both the accused and victim were traced out by Anantnag Police from Mirbazar area of district Kulgam,” the statement said.
The accused has been arrested and the girl was handed over to her parents after completion of legal formalities.
