Srinagar: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two accused persons involved in the alleged murder case in Kangan.
A police spokesperson informed that the investigation has revealed that after committing the crime, the accused had dumped the victim’s body into a canal.
After strenuous efforts, the body of the deceased was recovered from the canal, and after medico-legal formalities, it was handed over to the victim’s family for the last rites.
During the course of investigation, a wire used in the commission of crime was recovered, police said. It said one of the close friends of the deceased has emerged as the prime eyewitness, whose statement has proven vital in cracking the case.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal has assured that further investigation is in full swing to unearth all aspects of the case and bring every individual involved to book.
