Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Shopian and Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Shopian, at Chotipora Sedow, one Irshad Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat of Hanjipora Kulgam was arrested and 652 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
At Chersoo in Awantipora, one Sohaib Ahmad Bhat, son of Ashiq Hussain Bhat of Chersoo was arrested after 36 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of NDPS Act have been registered in concerned police stations for further investigations, police said.
