Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal have arrested an absconder who had been on the run for the past four years, a police spokesperson informed Friday.
He said the accused Zahoor Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Ramzan Lone of Preng Kangan, was wanted by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rajouri in connection with a matter under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Despite repeated warrants, the accused continuously dodged arrest and avoided court appearances.
A police team from Police Station Kangan tracked down and apprehended the absconder on September 18, and produced him before the CJM Rajouri for further legal action, police said.
