BUDGAM: Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, today inaugurated the much-anticipated macadamization works on the vital road connecting Chadoora to Brenwar.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the Speaker emphasised the government’s commitment to upgrading rural infrastructure. “This road is a lifeline for the people of this area. Its macadamization will not only end the long-standing difficulties faced by the residents but will also act as a catalyst for the overall development of the area,” the Speaker said.
He added that the improved connectivity will open new avenues for economic growth, enhance access to markets, healthcare facilities and significantly improve the quality of life of the local community.
On this occasion, the Executive Engineer for PMGSY assured the Speaker that the macadamization work would be completed efficiently within a strict 20-day timeframe. He informed the Speaker that this 9.90-kilometre road project, undertaken at an estimated cost of ₹2.15 crores, is a key infrastructure initiative aimed at providing a smooth and safe travel experience for commuters, farmers, and local businesses.
Pertinently, the macadamization of this vital road marks a significant step towards improving connectivity and boosting the socio-economic development of the region. It is expected to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce vehicle maintenance costs, and provide all-weather connectivity to the surrounding villages.
The event, among others, was attended by local dignitaries, community leaders, and large number of enthusiastic residents who have long advocated for the upgradation of this crucial road.
