Kashmir’s Dr. Naveed Nazir & Dr. Ibrar Sheerazi Join Rotary’s Global Humanitarian Network

Srinagar: Two prominent healthcare professionals from Kashmir, Dr. Naveed Nazir and Dr. Ibrar Bashir Sheerazi, have been selected for membership in the prestigious Rotary International through the Rotary Club of Kashmir.

Dr. Naveed Nazir, Head of Department at CD Hospital Srinagar, is an eminent respiratory medicine specialist, widely respected for his expertise and compassion. Often described as a “gold-hearted” professional, he has dedicated his career to patient care. Dr. Ibrar Bashir Sheerazi, a physician specialist and public health expert, has also earned recognition for his contributions to healthcare and community welfare.

Their induction into Rotary underscores their steadfast commitment to the organization’s principles of “Service Above Self,” integrity, and fostering goodwill and peace.

Rotary International, a global network of 1.4 million members across more than 200 countries, is known for uniting leaders from diverse fields to tackle pressing humanitarian challenges. Membership is extended only to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service, leadership, and ethical responsibility in personal and professional spheres.

The inclusion of Dr. Naveed Nazir and Dr. Sheerazi is expected to greatly enrich the Rotary Club of Kashmir’s service projects and community-driven initiatives, further strengthening its mission of addressing local needs while contributing to Rotary’s global humanitarian efforts.

Alongside Dr. Naveed and Dr. Sheerazi, several other eminent professionals were also welcomed as new members of the club. They include Irfan Jeelani Rather (Education), Anisa Nabi (Civil Services), Nazir Ahmad Ganaie (Journalism), Gurpriya Kour (Hospitality), Dr. Javaid Ahmad Bhat (Healthcare), Jatinder Singh Kamboj (Business), as well as Mursheed Ahmad Khan, Dr. Asifa Baba, and Dr. Ruheela Hassan from University Administration.

Notably, Rotary continues to be a global force for positive change, from eradicating polio to promoting peace, education, and healthcare, with its members driving impact at both local and international levels.
