Srinagar: Police in Pulwama on Wednesday claimed to have solved a hit-and-run case, which had resulted in the death of a woman.
Sharing details, a police spokesperson said that Police Post Newa received information about an unknown vehicle having hit a motorcycle near Gudoora Bridge, resulting in critical injuries to the pillion rider, Raja Begum of Looswani. She was immediately shifted to District Hospital Pulwama, where doctors declared her brought dead.
A case was registered, and during subsequent investigations, police with the help of CCTV footage and multiple sources, zeroed in on a blue three-wheeler (auto load-carrier), which was seized.
During the investigation, it surfaced that the accused driver is a minor. As per legal provisions, he has not been taken into custody, and further proceedings under the Juvenile Justice Act are being initiated, police said.
