SKUAST-K holds 2nd Graduation Day function for its passing Veterinary graduates

SRINAGAR: Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Shuhama, SKUAST-K, today held its Graduation Day Ceremony for passing out of BVSc&AH students (batch 2019). 

During the event, passing graduates were awarded with Provisional Degree certificates before the final convocation, wherein they shall be conferred with final degree certificates. 

About 76 students who graduated from SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Veterinary Sciences were presented with the certificates for successful completion of their Bachelor’s in Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) degree programme.

Academic procession, oath ceremony of passing veterinarians, release of literary club magazine and other felicitations, including the best student clinician awards and Budding Vets competition award were held on the occasion.

Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, who was the chief guest at the function, extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students and their parents, praising their hard work and perseverance. He also lauded the faculty for their unwavering commitment in nurturing the students, preparing them to step confidently into the world as future global leaders and conscientious citizens.

Addressing the young veterinary professionals, Prof. Ganai urged them to dream ambitiously and pursue their goals with unwavering dedication and discipline, he emphasized, that this would not only lead to personal success but also contribute meaningfully to the progress of the region and the nation at large.

Prof. Riaz Ahmad Shah, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, reflected on the key milestones of students’ academic journey and other achievements that are proudly symbolised by their hard-earned degrees awarded to them today. 

Earlier, Prof. Sajad Gangoo, Dean of Students Welfare, SKUAST-K, in his brief address, highlighted the milestones covered by the Veterinary Faculty and its unique propositions at both national and international levels. He also emphasized on the importance of modern technologies like Information technology, Biotechnology and Nanotechnology all being excelled in one or the other way by the Vet faculty.

In-charge Registrar, Pervaiz Ahmad Bhat, administered the Veterinarian Oath to the passing graduates.

Director Extension, SKUAST-K Prof. Riahana Habib Kanth; UG coordinator, Dr. I M. Allaie; Prof. Abdul Hai, Lead Warden, FVSc & AH; Dr. Monica Gupta, Director NIFT Srinagar, and Prof. Archana Shastry, founder member of NIFT Srinagar, were present at the event.

The academic procession was held from the premises of the Faculty Outreach Centre, FVSc&AH.
