Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that Showkat Ahmad Kalo, son of Farooq Ahmad Kalo of Kanyari Hajin, Bandipora, and Manzoor Ahmad Nadroo, son of Abdul Aziz Nadroo of Sher Colony, Tarzoo Sopore, were arrested and their vehicle (JK05B-1974) seized at Zand Batpora after two bags weighing 2.90 kg and 1.54 kg of poppy straw were recovered from their possession.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Handwara for further investigation.
