Jammu: Police Saturday arrested six individuals for brandishing weapons while dancing on Ring Road in Kanachak in Jammu district.

Police said that a disturbing video, showing a group of individuals brandishing sharp-edged weapons and lathis while dancing on the Ring Road in the Kanachak area, recently went viral on social media, raising serious public concern and prompting immediate intervention.

A case FIR No 104/2025 U/S 191(2),(3)BNS and 4/25 Arms Act for unlawful possession of weapons and disturbing public order was registered in Police Station Kanachak.

Subsequently, multiple raids were conducted at different locations and six individuals arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend others who remain absconding, police said.

The apprehended individuals were identified as Mohammad Akram alias Bachu, son of Rashid Abdul, resident of Sanasar, at present Rajpura tehsil Marh district Jammu; Mohammad Ameer Monu, son of Mohammad Hanif, resident of Ramban, at present Rajpura; Mushtaq Ahmad alias Billa, son of Maiyan, resident of Patnitop, at present Rajpura tehsil Marh, district Jammu; Mohammad Maneer alias Ballu, son of Saif Ali, resident of Dub Karam Din tehsil Marh district Jammu; Sahil Sharma, son of Parshotam Lal, resident of Chatha Gujjran and Nikhil Nandan, son of Madan Lal, resident of Chatha Gujjran.

Moreover, two sharp-edged weapons and some lathis were recovered from their possession besides one Tata Mobile vehicle (JK21H 2517) was also seized, police said, adding further investigation was currently underway.

Meanwhile, police have appealed to the public to refrain from engaging in such illegal and provocative acts, warning that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the law.
