Lead bank Budgam holds workshop on potential linked plan 2019-20

Srinagar, July 12: Lead Bank Budgam in collaboration with NABARD conducted a sensitisation workshop on 9th of July 2018 at Conference Hall JK Bank Budgam. Representatives of government departments and the banks participated in the workshop. The main focus of the workshop was to discuss and strategise the Potential Linked Plan 2019-20, which forms the basis of the Annual Credit Plan.

The meeting was presided over by Lead District Manager Aijaz Ahmad who briefed about the role in formation of PLP 2019.2020.  He stressed on a scientific approach for considering various activities in different areas of district Budgam.

As the district comprises of 17 blocks it has a lot of potential in various agriculture & allied activities and the PLP has to be formulated taking in view scheme wise/sector wise activities of these areas for which all the line departments of the district were directed to formulate a comprehensive plan prevailing in different villages of the blocks so that the potential of the blocks may be tapped properly, which was also desired by DDC Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar in 63rd DLRC meeting held on 25.06.2018.

Earlier after welcoming the participants DDM NABARD Junaid Ahmad  gave a through Power Point Presentation about Pre PLP.

In the meeting various aspects of priority sector landings was discussed and analysed. The participants of all the departments were briefed about the detailed survey conducted by NABARD  and Lead Bank.  The line departments  have to  formulate  plans keeping in view the survey and actual reports about the district.

The Workshop was an important step for both the banker’s and the government departments; it envisaged the unbanked & grassroots populace of the district Budgam.

Zulfikar District Officer Agriculture department presented a holistic view of various schemes of his department and areas wherein more efforts have to be taken for the upliftment and growth of the underprivileged lot.

Aijaz Ahmad Lead District Manager thanked all the participants in the workshop .He emphasized on working in cohesion for the benefit of the people dependent on our handholding, advice and assistance so that the upliftment of socioeconomic scene of every village , block and in the district gets changed to development ,progress and prosperity.

The other participants who participated in workshop were from DUDA, DIC Budgam, Agriculture department, FLCC Budgam , J&K Bank ,EDB,ICICI Bank  and others.
