SRINAGAR: With the celebration of a triple milestone, Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial (JLNM) Hospital in Srinagar achieved a noteworthy milestone in its development as one of the valley’s top tertiary care facilities.

By bringing together professionals and researchers in the field, the conference sought to investigate new areas in allergy and immunology. Accompanying MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq to the conference-turned-workshop at the hospital was Sakina Masood, Health and Education Minister.

Besides congratulating postgraduate researchers for their exceptional work as aspiring clinical scientists, Sakina Masood introduced the JLNM’s annual general and awards ceremony during the occasion.

The hospital administration, which included Dr. Mohammad Tariq Jaan, Dr. Taha Ashraf, an allergy specialist, Deputy Dr. Asifa Jaan, and Aafaq Bashir, the media cell in charge, thanked the Minister for her efforts in revitalizing the hospital and bringing the new buildings up to code for patients.

Speaking to the media, the health minister congratulated the physicians at JLNM for their unwavering dedication and for making the hospital a premier tertiary care facility in the valley. The hospital’s historical significance and continuous efforts to provide the greatest amenities for patients were underlined by her.

In a first for any Indian district hospital, JLNM Hospital also launched its own quarterly medical journal.

Minister of Health and Medical Education Sakeena Masood Itoo, MLA Zadibal Tanveer Sadiq, Director of Health Services Dr. Jehangir Bakshi, Prof. Altaf Kawoosa (HOD Orthopedics, GMC Srinagar), Medical Superintendent Dr. Tariq Jan, and Deputy MS Dr. Asifa Jan were present at the launch.

Promoting research, scholarly writing, and information exchange among district-level healthcare practitioners is the goal of the quarterly publication.
