Srinagar: A major fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at a shop belonging to Master Cable Network, located near Imam Bara in Hassanabad area of Srinagar, resulting in extensive damage.
According to eyewitnesses, the blaze erupted suddenly, engulfing the entire shop, which stored a large quantity of electronic items, including batteries, cable network components, and appliance repair tools such as washing machine parts. The fire quickly intensified due to the inflammable materials stored inside, completely gutting the establishment.
Preliminary estimates suggest that the losses could run into several lakhs of rupees.
Thanks to the swift response from local residents and emergency responders, the fire was contained before it could spread to adjacent buildings, preventing a potentially larger disaster. No casualties have been reported in the incident.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and authorities have launched an investigation.
