The visit included inspections at Baltal, the base camp at Domail and a high-level review meeting with key stakeholders, including SSP Traffic (Rural), Camp Director Domail, OC Beacon and officials of the SSB.

The focus of the meeting was to streamline the vehicular movement, ensure road safety, monitor transport operations and enhance inter-agency coordination for benefit of the pilgrims.

At Baltal, the Transport Commissioner reviewed free transport services being provided to pilgrims. He interacted with the drivers and instructed them to prioritise safe, disciplined and comfortable travel for all the pilgrims. He also received positive feedback from the pilgrims, many of whom expressed satisfaction with the transport facilities and services being made available during the Yatra.

He also visited the Weighing Bridge at Sonamarg, where he directed the ARTO Ganderbal to submit a comprehensive proposal for modernisation of the facility. This included the integration of advanced monitoring gadgets and the provision of adequate accommodation and infrastructure for the staff working at the site.

The Transport Commissioner emphasized the need for sustained vigilance, coordination and public service commitment to ensure the continued success of the Yatra operations.
