Sakeena Itoo inaugurates state-of-the-art main building of GDC Boniyar

BARAMULLA: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, inaugurated the state-of-the-art main building of Government Degree College (GDC) Boniyar here today.

MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi; MLA Baramulla Javed Hassan Baig; Director Colleges Dr. Firdous Ahmad Giri; Principal GDC Boniyar, Professor Parveen Kousar; faculty members of the college; students and locals were present during the inaugural ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasised the government’s commitment towards providing equitable access to quality education in remote and rural areas. “This new infrastructure is not just a building, it is a symbol of the government’s vision to empower the youth of Boniyar with knowledge, opportunity and a bright future”, she stated.

Highlighting various initiatives of the government regarding the development of the education sector, Sakeena outlined that this upgraded infrastructure would significantly enhance the academic environment in the college and attract more students from the surrounding areas.

The Minister further said that the education sector, particularly in remote and underserved areas, is being upgraded so as to provide the best quality education to students in their vicinity.

On the occasion, the Minister also interacted with the students, encouraging them to make full use of the facilities for excellence in academics as well as community development.

Pertinently, the newly inaugurated infrastructure features modern classrooms, smart laboratories, a well-equipped library, a computer room, an auditorium, a museum and ample washroom facilities.
