Kupwara: Army allegedly shot dead a youth, while as injuring another during clashes in Trehgam area of the north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.
The slain youth was identified as Khalid Gaffar Malik (22), son of Abdul Gaffar Malik.
Witness said a group of youth allegedly pelted stones on an Army cavalcade passing through the area and the soldiers opened fire upon them in which a youth was killed.
Another youth was injured, the duo was rushed to a hospital where the doctors declared Malik brought dead who had suffered a bullet injury in his neck.
Meanwhile, the killing has triggered massive protest in the area.
