KPDCL announces power shutdowns in Anantnag, Srinagar & Ganderbal

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across parts of Anantnag, Srinagar, and Ganderbal districts to facilitate various maintenance and stabilization works on the 33 KV lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the shutdown of the 33 KV Mattan-Pahalgam line has been rescheduled to ensure reliable power supply during SANJY-2025. As a result, the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Salia, Hutmurrah, Sallar, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, and GIS/AIS Pahalgam will remain off, affecting power supply to Pahalgam, Batkoot, Aishmuqam, Seer, Saller, Akad, Hutmurrah, Salia, and adjoining areas from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM on June 27 and June 30, 2025.

In Srinagar, to facilitate the relocation of old wooden frames inside PCR Batmaloo, shutdown of the 33 KV Bemina-Exhibition line will be observed on June 29, 2025, from 06:00 AM to 02:00 PM. This will affect power supply to Silk Factory, Batmaloo, Baranpather Batmaloo, PCR, HSHS, Exhibition, and nearby areas.

Additionally, on June 28, 2025, the following shutdowns will be undertaken:

For replacement of CT/PT unit at M/s Khyber Industries, shutdown of 33 KV Khunmoh-SIDCO-III line will affect power supply to Cement Plants (Khyber, SAIFCO, TCI MAX) and surrounding areas from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 05:00 PM to 06:00 PM.

For shifting of electrical utilities along the roadside, shutdown of 33 KV Badampora-Lar-Tulmulla line will impact power supply to Lar, Waliwar, Repora, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Larsun, and adjoining areas from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

KPDCL has urged consumers in the affected areas to bear with the inconvenience as the scheduled works are essential for strengthening and improving power infrastructure.
