  Drug peddler booked under PIT NDPS Act in Sopore

Srinagar: Police in Sopore have booked a “chronic drug peddler” under the stringent Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS) and lodged him in Kishtwar Jail.

A police spokesperson said that the accused, Farooq Ahmed Mir, son of Abdul Rasheed Mir, resident of Adipora Sopore, had been persistently involved in narcotics trafficking despite multiple FIRs and arrests. His continued activities posed a serious threat to public health and youth safety.
