Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Kupwara, Sopore and Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesman said one Shahrukh Shafi Mir, son of Mohammad Shafi Mir of Kupwara, was arrested at Drugmulla Market after a “substantial quantity” of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
One Ghulam Hassan Dar, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar of Mohalla Teliyan Arampora, Sopore was arrested at Chinar Crossing, Warpora after cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In Kulgam, at Furrah near Railway Track one Farooq Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir of Zadoora was arrested and poppy straw-like substance weighing 1.19 kg was recovered from his possession.
Police said cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for investigations.
