Ganderbal: A husband-wife couple was critically injured in a road accident near Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Leh highway on Saturday.
An official said that the accident occurred near Bajri Nallah, Zojila, on Saturday afternoon when a private vehicle met with an accident en route from Sonamarg to Kargil.
He said the vehicle reportedly lost control and skidded off the road near Bajri Nallah, Zojila. As a result, the driver identified as Prateek Mandal, a resident of West Bengal, and his wife Annu Smriti, who was accompanying him, sustained injuries. Both injured persons were shifted to the PHC Sonamarg for medical treatment.
The authorities have taken cognisance of the matter, while a police party has been deputed to the spot for further investigation, the official said.
