JAMMU: Amid reports claiming inadequate relief to families affected by recent Pakistani shelling in Rehari, the District Administration has issued a formal clarification regarding the assistance extended to victims.
Refuting claims that only ₹6,500 was provided to damaged houses, the administration stated that, “As per prescribed norms, the main house that was directly hit by shelling has been sanctioned an assistance amount of ₹1,20,000.”
In addition, nearby houses that suffered minor structural damages—though not directly impacted—have each received ₹6,500 in accordance with established guidelines for compensation related to minor damage.
The administration also confirmed that individuals who sustained minor injuries have been given ₹10,000 each as immediate relief. Those grievously injured have been granted ₹35,000 each to support their recovery.
Reaffirming its commitment, the District Administration stated, “Every genuine requirement arising from this unfortunate incident is being dealt with on priority. We stand in solidarity with the affected residents and will continue to support them in every possible way.”
Authorities urged the public to rely on verified information and assured continuous monitoring and support for all impacted families.
