CII J&K Delegation Calls on Director, Information, J&K

Srinagar: A delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), led by Dr. M A Alim, Chairman, CII J&K UT Council, along with Khurshid Dar, Head, CII J&K UT Council met Nitish Rajora, Director of Information, Jammu & Kashmir, to explore collaborative opportunities for enhancing the UT’s global image and fostering economic growth. 

During the meeting, Dr. Alim briefed the Director about CII’s initiatives aimed at strengthening Jammu & Kashmir’s reputation as an attractive investment and tourism destination. He highlighted plans for a series of events designed to build confidence among potential investors and visitors, contributing to the region’s socio-economic development.

Rajora appreciated CII’s efforts and expressed his openness to receiving formal proposals for joint initiatives. He emphasized that the Department of Information is ready to collaborate with CII, along with the Department of Industries & Commerce and the Department of Tourism, to organize impactful events that showcase J&K’s potential. 

Additionally, Dr. Alim shared insights into CII’s participation in prestigious global platforms like the Cannes Film Festival and proposed that Jammu & Kashmir could leverage such international events to promote its rich cultural heritage, film tourism, and business opportunities in the future. 

The discussion concluded with a mutual agreement to work closely on actionable strategies to position J&K as a premier destination for trade, tourism, and investment.
