Hajj-2018: Advisor Khurshid Ganai reviews arrangements

SRINAGAR, JULY 08: Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai today reviewed the arrangements put in place for Haj 2018 by State Haj Committee and directed the Executive Officer Syed Qamar Sajad to finalize and complete all the arrangements well before the departure of Hajis.

Executive Officer appraised Advisor about the arrangements taken by the State Haj Committee for smooth conduct of Haj 2018. He informed the Advisor that the outbound flights from Srinagar Embarkation shall commence from 14th July, 2018 and conclude on 25th July, 2018 whereas the Delhi bound flights shall commence from 14th July upto 28th July, 2018. On daily basis a total of 820 pilgrims shall depart for Madina Munnawara in 4 flights from Srinagar embarkation point. A total of 569 pilgrims shall depart from Delhi embarkation point and 9614 pilgrims shall depart from Srinagar embarkation point, hence the total of 10183 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir along with 50 Khadim ul Hujjaj shall perform pilgrimage this year.

During the meeting the Advisor was informed that adequate transport arrangements have been made for carrying the pilgrims from Haj House, Bemina to Srinagar International Airport and from the respective Districts of Jammu Division to Srinagar Haj House.  It was informed that for the guidance of pilgrims, they have been provided with pamphlets and guides. Boarding and lodging facilities have also been finalized in respect of Pilgrims of Jammu division / Ladakh Region besides far flung areas of the valley in Haj House, Srinagar.

The progress on the decisions made regarding the Hajj 2018 was also reviewed during the meeting. Advisor to Governor deliberated upon all the concerned to perform their duties with zeal and zest. Meeting was also attended by other officers of the State Hajj Committee.
