In Srinagar, the party activists assembled at the Sher-e-Kashmir Park and started the rally that culminated at the historic Ghanta Ghar, the iconic clock tower at the Lal Chowk city centre.

BJP leaders including party’s Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakshan Andrabi, BJP J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur and others led the Tiranga Yatra.

To accommodate the Tiranga Yatra, the authorities blocked the busy Residency Road to traffic, while police and paramilitary troops were deployed in strength to ensure a smooth conclusion to the march.

“The befitting response to Pakistan-backed terrorists and their masters across the border on May 7 sent a loud and clear message to Pakistan that India would not tolerate any sort of violence on its territory,” Dr. Darakshan Andrabi said, praising the Indian armed forces for bringing honors to India by destroying the terror network in Pakistan and PoJK.

“We salute our courageous armed forces who dismantled terror networks in Pakistan. Pakistan’s political and military leadership was shaken by India’s tough response to the Pahalgam attack, and the country’s anti-terrorism operation, Operation Sindoor, would not stop until it accomplishes its objective,” she added.

Responding to a query regarding Madhya Pradesh BJP leader and State Cabinet Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah’s controversial remarks about Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, who conducted regular media briefings regarding Operation Sindoor, Andrabi said, Sofia Qureshi is the courageous daughter of India who gives chills to Pakistan.

“Every ordinary Indian might have seen Colonel Qureshi’s velour and sense of patriotism. She raised Indian women’s spirits. By entering Pakistan and dismantling terrorist networks there, she brought honor to India,” added the BJP leader.

Talking to reporters, BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson Altaf Thakur said the rally was a celebration of Operation Sindoor’s success.

“This is the celebration of the Indian Army’s victory. Our forces exhibited their courage and made Operation Sindoor a success. They destroyed terror factories inside Pakistan,” he said.

Thakur said through Operation Sindoor, India has sent a message to the world that it will not tolerate terrorism anymore.

“We have also sent a message that if you indulge in terrorism, we will wipe you out,” the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader added.

Similar rallies were organised in the Pahalgam tourist resort, where 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed in a terror attack on April 22 that led to Operation Sindoor, and Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
