The workshop aimed to enhance awareness among field officers and stakeholders regarding the effective implementation of PMAY-G, which envisions ‘Housing for All’ by providing pucca houses to eligible rural households.

Speaking on the occasion, DC lauded the efforts of the Rural Development Department and field staff for their dedicated work in implementing PMAY-G across the district. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out and urged officers to maintain transparency, quality, and speed in execution.

He appreciated the field teams of Rafiabad, Zaingeer, and Lalpora blocks for achieving remarkable progress and called for replicating the same success across other areas.

Earlier, ACD Baramulla highlighted the objectives and key features of PMAY-G. He stressed the importance of close coordination with Panchayati Raj Institutions, timely fund disbursement, social audits, and technology-driven monitoring for the effective implementation of the scheme.

Experts from the Rural Development Department also spoke at length about operational guidelines, beneficiary selection processes, financial assistance mechanisms, quality control measures, and reporting systems.

Pertinently, in district Baramulla, Blocks Rafiabad, Zaingeer, and Lalpora have achieved remarkable saturation under PMAY-G. Recognizing this significant achievement, the Rural Development Department Kashmir presented awards to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa, Assistant Commissioner Development Baramulla Shabir Ahmad Hakak, and the concerned Block Development Officers during the programme.

The event concluded with a technical session, where practical demonstrations were given on MIS reporting, geo-tagging of houses, and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Joint Director Planning Baramulla Javed Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Baramulla, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP), Block Development Officers, Panchayat Secretaries, Village Level Workers, field staff, and other stakeholders were present at the programme.
