MS GMC Jammu attached, day after issuing circular asking staff to be alert amid border tension

Srinagar: Authorities on Saturday attached Medical Superintendent attached with Director Health Services Jammu, a day after he issued a circular calling upon staff at GMC Jammu to be alert and ready to meet any exigency amid “border tension”.

While the circular was withdrawn by Principal/Dean GMC Jammu hours after it was issued, the government issued Order (No. 329-JK(HME) of 2025) wgich reads: “Dr. Narinder Bhutyal, I/C Medical Superintendent, Government Medical College, Jammu is repatriated forthwith and attached in the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu for further duties.”

Further, Dr. Varinder Trisal, I/C Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ramban has been deputed to Government Medical College, Jammu on standard terms and conditions of deputation, as per the order, a copy of which lies with GNS. “He shall also look after the charge of Medical Superintendent, Government Medical College, Hospital Jammu”.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sudershan Singh Katoch, Medical Officer presently on deputation to J&KMSCL has been repatriated forthwith and posted in District hospital Ramban. “He shall also temporarily look after the charge of Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ramban,” the order reads, adding, “The officials shall be deemed to have been relieved forthwith.” (GNS)
