On green meadows

A stunned valley lashed with vicious strokes

Bestial, ghastly, hellacious

Perhaps we just don robes of humanity

Over our brutal, sadistic selves

Lives snuffed out with precision

Headlines screamed in horrified wonder

Screens couldn’t believe their eyes

Already choked with mindless violence

Blood curdling visuals shaming insaaniyat

A savage felling down of gleeful tourists

Bodies lying in the silence of Death

Wounded like axed trees in a sylvan haven

The sky whimpered with their collective pain

Pahalgam cursed by its own beauty

A damsel slaughtered barbarically

The brooks will keep flowing with the stench of death

And the deodars will shriek with hellish nightmares

The snows will weep with the grieving bride

And Kashmiriyat will suffer perennially.
