Congress pays floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his Jayanti

Srinagar: District Congress Committee (DCC) Srinagar in a function held at Party Office paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R Ambedkar and recollected his selfless services and sacrifices towards Nation Building, terming him a great statesman and visionary leader, who ensured protection of every section of the people enshrined in the Constitution.

Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that Babasaheb gave the Nation Constitution ensuring protection of rights of every citizen and community and also recollected his great emphasis on the importance of education in India.

Babasaheb laid emphasis over the transformative power of education, viewing it as a crucial tool for social change and public empowerment, besides stating that education was essential for dismantling oppressive structures, achieving equality and fostering a progressive society.

Babasaheb advocated for the education of women and said educating women amounts to educating a family and society as well. The Constitution guarantees protection of public rights reflecting the very foundation of democracy and democratic setup in the country, speakers added and said Congress Party shall continue to fight for safeguarding the constitution and won’t allow BJP RSS to temper with it (Constitution).

Baba Saheb will always be remembered for his selfless services to the Nation, his leadership qualities and vision shall continue to inspire people, leading them on the path of social services, unity and harmony, they said.

On this occasion, Congress Leaders hit out at self-proclaimed leaders for working against Party interests and urged the Party High Command to initiate strict disciplinary action against them. Those who make attempts to cause damage to the Party have no place in Congress, they added.

The meeting was presided over by DCC President Irfan Naqib and attended by Senior Leader Abdul Gani Khan, Dr.Audil Farooq Mir (Lasjan), Muzaffar Shah, Javed Ahmad, Khursheed Ahmad Patto, Shameema Mir, Shameema Sopori, Saira,Nargis,Seerat Bashir, Block Presidents, Prominent workers and frontal organizations of Srinagar District
