Srinagar: Police in Awantipora have booked a “notorious” drug peddler under the PIT NDPS Act.
The drug peddler identified as Javid Ahmad Daralias Brichi, son of Mohammad Akram Dar of Lalpora Chatlum Pampore has been booked under the PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority & subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu, police said.
Separately, police in Sopore attached the property of a “notorious” drug peddler.
The attached property includes two storied commercial building, one storied bakery workshop and second storey of residential house valued at approximately ₹45,19,816 located at Mazbugh Sopore. These properties have been attached under the NDPS Act 1985, and belong to Firdous Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohiudin Bhat of Mazbugh Sopore.
“The property was acquired by the drug peddler from the proceeds of narcotics. The inquiry revealed that the said immovable property was raised from Illicit trafficking by the drug peddler,” police said.
