Srinagar: The Meteorological department today forecast light rains, snow and gusty winds over several parts of Kashmir till April 11, saying weather conditions will improve from April 12.

An official said the weather will likely be generally cloudy towards afternoon with the possibility of light rains, thunder, gusty winds and snow over higher reaches in north and central Kashmir towards April 8 evening and night.

He said from April 9-10, the weather will likely remain generally cloudy with intermittent spells of light rain and snow over higher reaches at many places, with the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds at a few places.

On April 11, there will be generally cloudy weather with light rain and snow over higher reaches at scattered places towards morning and improvement thereafter.

From April 12-17 the weather across Jammu and Kashmir will likely remain dry, he said.

He added that from April 18-20 there is again a possibility of fresh spell of rain and snow over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir.
